Plaque awards have been called by many names over the years. Sometimes, when customers contact Suburban Custom Awards, we aren’t always sure what they are looking for. We hear terms like Lucite, trophy, tombstone, or plaque awards.  But just a few simple questions help us determine exactly what they need so we can create the perfect award or gift for their situation.

A common phrase, and perhaps the most accurate, is a “plaque award.” However, this can even have different meanings, depending on who is asking and what type of award they are presenting or showcasing. Let’s take a few minutes to look at the various types of plaque awards.

Wall Plaque Awards

When people talk about plaque awards, they usually mean the wall plaque. Wall plaques are a great option in settings without a lot of shelf or desk space. Wall plaques range in price, so it’s easy to find a quality award that fits budgetary considerations. The Walnut Laser Engraved Plaque comes in various sizes and provides plenty of space to engrave a personalized message to the recipient.

You can order award-specific designs, such as our Door Knocker Sales Plaque.  The Rosewood Scroll Plaque is also a popular choice for high-end events and awards ceremonies. If wood is not your thing, and you want something classy, check out the Blue Marble Carved Octagon acrylic plaque.

Perpetual Plaques

If you are celebrating multiple achievements or recognizing employees regularly, perpetual plaques are a great option. A perpetual plaque consists of small individual plates that are updated with the winner’s names. Perpetual plaques are popular awards used for recognizing corporate achievements. Perpetual plaques like our Rosewood Perpetual Plaque (12–144 Plates) are ideal for recognizing:

• Quarterly Top Sales Winners
• Years of Service Milestones
• Top Customer Service Rep
• Monthly Awards

Some of our popular perpetual plaques include the 12 Plate Elliptical Perpetual Plaque and the upscale Milestone Perpetual Award. Our perpetual plaques provide a unique, customizable way to recognize team members and outstanding individuals.

Cast Plaques

If you want durability and distinction, consider our cast plaque options. Our Cast Bronze and Cast Aluminum plaques are fully customizable. Cast plaques are great for memorials and outdoor recognition venues. These popular permanent recognition pieces are often used for:

• Historical monuments
• Honoring donors for building dedications
• Identifying city and government sites

Desk Awards

You can use plaque awards for desk awards, meaning they rest on a table, desk, or table. Desk awards contain a single metal plate. For example, our walnut name desk plate is a great gift for new employees or new offices for employee promotions. Take it up a level with the Marble Desk Name Plate, or Business Card Holder and Clock for a reliable, long-term employee or service award.
